Hypnotherapy

What Is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a gentle yet powerful self-awareness tool that has been seen to support mindset change, emotional wellbeing, and personal growth. It works by guiding you into a deeply relaxed and focused state, where the busy conscious mind settles and you are able to access deeper layers of awareness.

Our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours are often shaped by subconscious patterns formed through past experiences, self-talk, and the environments we’ve lived in. Over time, these patterns can influence how we respond to stress, relationships, habits, confidence, and life challenges—often without us consciously realising it.

Hypnotherapy offers a supportive space to observe these underlying patterns with curiosity rather than judgement, creating the opportunity to release what no longer serves you and gently introduce new, more empowering perspectives.

How Hypnotherapy May Support Wellbeing

During hypnotherapy, you remain aware and in control at all times. The relaxed state simply allows the nervous system to settle, which many people find helps them feel calmer, more present, and more open to positive change.

Clients often explore hypnotherapy to support areas such as:

  • Emotional regulation and stress management
  • Confidence and self-esteem
  • Sleep quality and relaxation
  • Habits and behavioural patterns
  • Letting go of past experiences that feel emotionally charged
  • Feeling more aligned with personal goals and values

Each session is unique, guided by your intentions and lived experience.

My Approach

At Mind Sanctuary Hypnotherapy, I draw on a range of evidence-informed hypnotherapy approaches, including the Golden Thread Protocol, Havening, traditional hypnotherapy techniques, and the Simpson Protocol. These methods are used to support self-discovery, insight, and positive inner change in a safe, respectful, and client-centred way.

Hypnotherapy is not about being “fixed”—it is about reconnecting with your inner resources and allowing change to unfold naturally, at your own pace.

Please note: Results vary from person to person. Hypnotherapy is not a replacement for medical or psychological care. Always seek advice from a qualified health professional for diagnosed conditions.

What is Havening?

Havening is a beautifully gentle yet deeply supportive, science-informed psychosensory approach that helps calm the nervous system and restore a sense of inner safety. Using simple, guided touch applied by the client themselves—such as soothing movements of the arms, hands, or face.

This self-applied sensory process supports the nervous system to move out of stress or threat responses and into a more regulated, relaxed state. From this place, many people find it easier to gently release emotional charge held around past experiences and create space for new, more supportive responses.

Havening can be offered as a stand-alone session or seamlessly integrated into hypnotherapy, where it enhances relaxation, emotional regulation, and the sense of safety needed for deeper inner work. The approach is empowering, non-invasive, and client-led, making it accessible and supportive across many life stages.

Havening is particularly valuable for children and teenagers, as well as for individuals who have experienced deep or long-standing emotional challenges, as it does not require detailed verbal recounting of events. Sessions are paced gently, with a strong focus on safety, choice, and nervous system support.

In my practice, I have consistently observed positive shifts and meaningful changes for clients using this protocol, especially when calming the body first allows the mind to follow. Havening offers a compassionate pathway forward—supporting resilience, emotional balance, and a renewed sense of ease. Book a Havening session call 0272 791 786
